Hancock holiday traditions happen all around our company and, in the spirit of the season, we wanted to share a few of them with all of you! While some are fairly new, many have been happening for decades upon decades. Take a look at some of Hancock’s holiday traditions:
Damariscotta. Now in its 8th year, the Damariscotta team hosts an annual family fun night every December, bringing the community together at their store on 362 Main Street! A Hancock holiday tradition, the Damariscotta team entertained local families with mascot appearances from Forest Hancock, Crusher the Red Claw, and even Santa Claus himself. From holiday crafts and cookie decorating, raffle prize giveaways, one-night only sale items, and even viewings of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman, the Damariscotta team always puts on a great event. A special thank you to our partners at The Maine Red Claws for allowing Crusher to continue to be a part of this annual family event!
Yarmouth. Our team in Yarmouth pulled together again this year to donate presents and money to support the Cumberland Fire Department’s drive for local families in need. Thank you to our Account Manager, Craig Weeman, who serves on the fire department and helped organize the collection—and a huge thank you to our Yarmouth team for their generosity and spirit of giving.
Casco Admin Office. One of our company’s longest standing traditions happens every year in Casco Village
at our administrative office. For as long as anyone can remember–possibly 50 years or more– this tradition has brought our admin teams together. Each Christmas we support local families’ children in need, purchasing winter coats, snow pants, gloves, hats, and items on the kiddos’ wish lists. The annual tradition culminates in December where employees gather to enjoy lunch together, followed by a huge wrapping party. Once everything is wrapped, labeled, and bagged, we deliver all of the presents to the local towns to distribute to area families.
Enjoy the season with your family and friends and whatever your traditions are–spending time together, finding ways to give back, honoring traditions or creating new ones–be safe, be merry, and be you!
Merry Christmas from our Hancock Family to Yours!
