As Inventory Manager I work with everyone here in the yard. I work with all the Yard Pros, the Order Coordinators, the Logistic Manager, and even the Counter Pros, Inside Sales and the Account Managers. I started here four years ago as a YardPro and I was given the opportunity to take on the inventory manager role, and it’s been great. I’ve been able to utilize my skills in this position and help the company succeed. Some of the skills you need to be successful as inventory manager are multi-tasking, organization, thinking ahead, planning ahead, and just knowing what product you need and when you need it. I like working here because it’s a team atmosphere. We all have to get a job done and we all help each other out, and that’s huge. It’s one of the biggest things we do. Everyone has their own separate job, but at the end of the day, everyone pulls together to get done what we need to. At Hancock Lumber we’re looking for self-starters, positive attitudes, and people who want to be part of a team environment. When I see the jobsite signs on the side of the road for Hancock Lumber, it makes me feel proud.
