In mid-February, Hancock Lumber welcomed Eric Howard from Costal Forest Products to host a two-session training on Engineered Wood Products for members of Team Hancock. Thirty-five Hancock Lumber employees split into two sessions for the day to learn more about design properties, mass timber, economics, fire code compliance, Coastal Forest Products’ structural design solutions, and more at our Yarmouth facility.

“The training was an intermediate level Engineered Wood Products Training covering many topics. The team was very engaged and was impressed with the level of detail Coastal provided them across these topics. The biggest take-aways I was hoping for the team was: 1) to arm them with the confidence in the Coastal brand and 2) Increase their knowledge of the Building Science of Structural Engineering as a whole.”

“Hancock Lumber is a people first company. Partnering with our vendor partners to offer product training to our associates builds confidence, empowers decision making, and allows us to offer the correct products to our building partners.”
—Chris Bowring, Regional General Manager

“I’m grateful to work for a company that prioritizes our growth and success. It’s no surprise that Hancock Lumber has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Maine for 11 consecutive years!”
