Hancock Lumber’s Karla Allen took to the Lancaster Fair Grounds earlier this month to be one of the vendors at the North Country Outdoor Industry Career Expo. Organized by the UNH Cooperative Extension, White Mountain Regional High School, and NH Division of Forests and Lands, this event brought 1,150 students from grades 7-12 together. Students had the opportunity to experience and learn about the various career opportunities that exist in the outdoor industry.
“Helping our young adults understand the opportunities that are available in our industry and the contribution it has to the local economy and beyond is so rewarding—I love being a part of these events!” – Karla Allen, Log Procurement
A long-time forest products industry professional, Karla Allen has held several positions at Hancock Lumber—however, log procurement is one of her passions. Her extensive experience in log procurement, forest management planning, and stumpage procurement, makes her an invaluable member of Team Hancock!
Following the student tour, several hours were set aside for the job fair to be open to the general public.
