On a beautiful early May afternoon in Yarmouth, our Hancock Lumber team welcomed a large crowd of employees, community members, builders, vendor partners, and friends to join us in the official ribbon cutting at our renovated hardware store and new Marvin Design Showroom at 258 Main Street! Everyone in attendance had a relaxing afternoon with food, drinks, laughs, and touring our new facilities.
For a better part of a year, this project took place as we worked to better serve our employees, customers, vendors, and community all while remaining fully operational. The new renovations featured a complete overhaul of the hardware store + sales area, tear down of the old bank building, build out of new Marvin Design Showroom on the first floor + Retail Operations Center on the second floor, new landscaping, and updated parking.
“With every project we do, we want it to be the best project we have ever done,” Kevin Hancock commented at the event. “And this project was in that spirit. I want to go on record as being the most excited person in this room about this project—I LOVE this project! We invested in the building for the sake of the people that use it. And that’s what this is about—it’s a human reinvestment and it’s the humans here that give it life.”
Hancock Lumber has been in the Yarmouth community since the company purchased Lumber and Supplies from Lee Adams in 1984. Our lumberyard, hardware store, kitchen design showroom—and now Marvin Design Showroom—will continue to be pillars in the village district of Main Street for years to come.
Reinvesting in our Yarmouth location and community will enable us to serve builders and homeowners for years to come. Plus, our Yarmouth team gets to enjoy a modern workspace designed and built based on their feedback and suggestions. Thank you to everyone who helped bring the new space to life and joined us this May to celebrate!
