Hancock Lumber‘s own Karla Allen is featured as one of the leading women in the March 2024 Northern Logger & Timber Processor magazine, a special edition celebrating women in the forest products industry. Karla joined Team Hancock in October of 2022, following our Madison Lumber Mill acquisition. Karla’s passion for the industry has led to a lifetime of making an impact, and we’re excited to see this celebrated in this industry publication!
Karla graduated in 1996 from Paul Smith’s College with a degree in Forest Tech. She then went on to work in a hardwood sawmill in southern New Hampshire, earned her NHLA lumber certification, became a lumber grader, and taught grading/scale courses. Today, Karla serves as a Log Procurement Forester and Trucking Coordinator out of our Madison Mill in New Hampshire.
A seasoned professional, Karla Allen has held several positions at Hancock Lumber, and the former Madison Lumber Mill; however, log procurement is one of her passions. With extensive experience in log procurement, forest management planning, and stumpage procurement, Karla is a valuable addition to our procurement team.
Karla will continue to oversee backhaul truck dispatching, in addition to procuring logs. Her knowledge of numerous Hancock systems and work experience will be a huge asset to the log procurement team.
