Kevin Hancock and California-based consulting firm, SSCA, held its first Business of Shared Leadership executive workshop in San Diego this March. This executive leadership training is based on the concepts of Kevin’s book, The Seventh Power, and Hancock Lumber’s real-life experience transforming its work culture. These ideas and experiences are paired with SSCA’s teachings which apply behavioral science to corporate and personal change creation. The goal of the workshop is to pivot leaders from a top-down business model toward a values-based organization. The first class of 13 senior executives (including two Mainers) shared ideas and experiences over the four-day program. Upon completion, everyone described the program as ‘transformative.’
No words can describe how much this week meant to me as a leader. I’ve already communicated it to one important person in my life and got goosebumps when I did. I felt so comfortable communicating what I was missing as a leader and what different looks like for me next.

Participants have three virtual meetings prior to arrival plus a workbook. After the live program they receive six months of implementation support from their fellow classmates and the facilitators as they work to transform their organizations. Every attendee leaves with a revised and elevated mission statement and a set of pillars or core concepts to rebuild their company around. The program goal is to position each leader to elevate the work culture, the employee experience, and their corporate performance in a manner that also uplifts humanity.

The second executive coaching program launches October 23-26, with the goal of making each class a lifetime learning “cohort”. If you or any leaders in your life would benefit, see program details and cost here.
The Business of Shared Leadership workshop was both educational and inspirational. I learned how to better make my organization employee centric as a pathway to strengthening both customer service and corporate profitability. I would recommend this workshop to any business leader that wants to drive organizational excellence and profit through empowering their employees to be the engines of growth and change.
