A record crowd turned out for the Gary Katz Roadshow Finished Carpentry Clinic, hosted by Hancock Lumber on Monday, 9/12 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport. Over 130 of Hancock Lumber’s builders and employees gathered to hear from two of the nation’s top carpenters and industry experts, Gary Katz and Scott Wells.
Complete with live demos and installs, the dynamic carpentry duo wow’d the crowd with cutting edge techniques on topics such as: managing moisture, waterproof windows and architectural trim, problem-free pre-fit doors, and installing crown and baseboard. Continuing education is a key part of being successful and we appreciate our customers and employees taking the time to invest in training.
In addition to breakfast, lunch, and a full day of learning, dozens of raffle prizes were given out, including nail guns, moisture meters, Patriots tickets, Red Sox/Yankees tickets, and more!
Thank you to everyone who attended the finished carpentry Roadshow, including Katz sponsors: Windsor One, Andersen Windows and Doors, Boral, AdvanTech, Zip System, Simpson Strong-Tie, Loctite, OSI, Plastpro, Stabila, Royal Exteriors, Benjamin Obdyke, and Thermory.
Hancock Lumber’s sponsors included Metrie Mouldings, Bostitch/DeWalt tools, and Coastal Forest Products representing Nordic i-joists. We look forward to hosting more contractor training events in the future!
