Hancock Lumber is excited to participate in a new weekly television show called Greenlight Maine, that will begin airing on September 12th, 2015. As both a successful growing business in Maine, and as a mentor interested in encouraging innovation and new ideas in our state, Hancock Lumber is looking forward to being a part of this exciting movement taking over Maine’s entrepreneurial community!
Greenlight Maine’s television program will be formatted like ABC’s “Shark Tank” where people are given the opportunity to pitch their ideas and convince any of the five sharks to invest in their business. Beginning in September, you can tune in to watch the show, Saturday nights at 7:30pm on WCSH6 and WLBZ2.
Having competed and made it through a field of over a hundred, a total of 26 businesses will be chosen to participate on the Greenlight Maine show, vying for the $100,000 grand prize. During each of the 13 shows, two companies will have five minutes to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges that consist of Maine entrepreneurs, service providers, and people in the business community. At the end of the show, judges will select a winner to receive a minimum of $100,000 to implement their ideas discussed in their pitch. Kevin Hancock, company president and CEO, has been selected as one of the judges!
Since 1848, Hancock Lumber has been helping to move Maine’s economy forward and is thrilled to support this initiative to encourage innovation and grow Maine’s best entrepreneurs into thriving businesses.
