There’s a lot of excitement around Hancock Lumber Company, with the retail division gearing up for a busy spring. Hancock’s Human Resources Director, Wendy Scribner, recently communicated some exciting moves and additions for Team Hancock.
“It has always been a top priority at Hancock Lumber to employ and attract knowledgeable individuals to build our team around and I feel fortunate to have such a great team of people on-board. Equally exciting is being able to expand our top talent with people of this caliber; people who genuinely love our industry and are wired for building service relationships with customers.
It is an exciting time right now with our economy moving in a positive direction and feeling well poised with a stellar lineup of talent, all willing and able to step up and take responsibility for running our business!”
– Wendy Scribner, Hancock Lumber HR Director
Mark Hopkins. Sales Manager | Retail Division
On January 1st, Mark Hopkins officially became our new retail division sales manager, working closely with John Yazwinski, our local legend, who will be retiring in November. Mark formerly managed the Bridgton store after years of being on the road as a seller. He has been making the rounds to all locations, meeting with employee teams and customers. We look forward to having Mark help lead the retail division and hope you all have a chance to meet him in your travels.
Tom Jordan. Account Manager | Commercial Sales
We are very excited to announce the addition of Tom Jordan to our commercial sales team as an Account Manager! Many of you might recognize Tom from his previous years at Brockway-Smith Company and more recently, Andersen Corporation, where he worked as a business development specialist for over three years. Tom joins a solid commercial sales team already in place including: veteran Account Manager, Tom Cyr; inside sales support, Dave Benedix and Guy Doyon; and, kitchen and bath designer, Angela Spugnardi.
Gary Plourde. Manager | Wall Panel Division
Gary Plourde continues to manage the wall panel shop, but we’ve hired additional employees to meet production needs and so Gary can spend more time on job sites with clients. Hancock offers both residential and commercial applications and no job is too small or big to benefit from the speed and quality of Hancock Wall Panels! Pre-constructed panels save time and money. Ask your account manager about the benefits of panelizing your next job!
Steve Rickert. General Manager | Bridgton Retail
With Mark moving into Retail Sales Manager, Hancock had an opening for the Bridgton store manager position last fall. We were lucky to find Steve Rickert, a Maryland native with solid industry experience, to bring from his work at both Johnson Lumber and Rickert Supply.
At Johnson Lumber, he worked in many capacities including VP/GM of Operations, as well as Sales Manager and General Manager. Steve was excited for the opportunity to live and work in Maine, as he and his wife have been visiting the state for decades!
Bonnie Richard. Kitchen + Bath Designer | Home Again by Hancock Lumber
