Investing in our sawmills, lumberyards, timberlands, employees and customers is always a top priority at Hancock Lumber. This past June we completed a major capital project at our Ryefield sawmill, located in Casco, the same town in which the company was founded over 166 years ago. Contributing to the Maine economy and keeping manufacturing here in Casco is something we take a great deal of pride in and are excited about this $750,000 project!
Kevin Hancock said it best at the ribbon cutting event with respect to growth, planning and investments when he said, “I feel great about making investments in the Casco Ryefield Sawmill because our team has created a great work culture that respects everyone! Our managers plan projects thoughtfully and in detail! You execute your projects safely and to their full potential! You have so much pride in what you do!”
The resaw machine increases the capacity and quality of Eastern White Pine boards coming out of our Casco mill. All of the Eastern White Pine boards we sell at our 10 lumberyards across Maine & New Hampshire are made at the Ryefield Sawmill! Congratulations to the team for completing this project on time and under budget!
